This first issue of Howard the Duck opens with Howard thinking of committing suicide and then finds himself involved in a bizarre adventure where he meets Beverly Switzler and Spider-Man for the first time, and faces off against Pro-Rata, the Financial Wizard.
Vol 2: October 1979 – March 1981
“Fowl of Fear!” Insane farmer Mister Chicken has his eyes on Howard and Bev. He thinks they would make good livestock. “From Hell It Cometh…Chair-Thing!” The Kidney Lady hassle Howard and Bev, who end up naked in bed on the final page.
Vol 3: March 2002 – August 2002
This is no nostalgia trip, True Believers! Just as the original series dealt with the important matters of the day, the new HOWARD tackles the big issues, starting with that scourge of the modern world: Boy Bands! “Making the Band” is classic satire in the Gerber/Howard tradition, with all the added creative freedom that the MAX line allows! Trapped on a world he never made, Howard himself will be lucky to survive his encounter with the corporate music world… unchanged! What do we mean by that? Marvel’s favorite furious fowl, Howard, and his faithful friend with benefits, Beverly, begin their journey to destroy the internet, radio and television, in this all new mini-series by Ty (She-Hulk) Templeton and Juan (She-Hulk) Bobillo.
