Sabrina first appeared as a new supporting character in Archie comics. She had a little something extra, however, that the rest of Archie’s pals didn’t: she’s a witch, complete with magical powers! Like many of the Riverdale High gang, she soon gained her own title with her own supporting cast, featuring her cranky old Aunt Hilda, her goofball boyfriend Harvey, and a spell-casting cat named Salem. Of course, Sabrina just wants to live a normal teenage life, and the problems of keeping her magical powers a secret is what sets the stage for most of her adventures.
The character of Sabrina gained much wider recognition when she became the star of a popular ABC sitcom, with Melissa Joan Hart in the lead role.

Series: 1996
Sabrina’s powers manifest on her 16th birthday. She fumbles a bit with her new abilities, but does succeed in giving the aunts a makeover.

Series: 1997
This series ran for 32 issues, between 1997 and December 1999. The new series incorporated elements from the live-action sitcom, including modernized fashions and appearances for the aunts, and Salem’s personality and backstory.

“Everyone Old Is New Again”: This story makes the transition from the current Sabrina series to the all-new Sabrina #1, based on the animated series from DIC! Repulsa, queen of the goblins, has never forgiven Sabrina for thwarting her plan to defeat Enchantra and rule the “Other Realm.” She seeks vengeance, and feels the best revenge is to throw Sabrina’s world out of whack by zapping her into the past! Now younger, Sabrina has no powers of her own– she can’t become a full witch till she’s 16– but she can “borrow” spells from her teen witch aunts’ (Hilda and Zelda) “Spookie Jar.” But there’s one thing Repulsa didn’t count on– Sabrina makes the best of it and actually has a good time at age 12! Will she ever want to be 17 again?

Sabrina is a teen witch who’s struggling with balancing the double life of high school and her burgeoning powers. Newly relocated to Greendale with her aunts Hilda and Zelda (also witches), Sabrina is trying to make the best of being the new girl in town which so far includes two intriguing love interests, an instant rivalry, a couple of misfits that could turn into BFFs, and trying to save the high school (and maybe the world) from crazy supernatural events.
