Okay, interesting. I actually find these throwbacks to the earlier comics to be entertaining, back when the characters were much more popular. The only thing that I don’t like is that this is a reminder of one of the worst things ever done to Spider-Man in the history of Marvel Comics with his marriage to MJ being erased. And it also reminds of that disgrace that Zeb Wells heaped upon it by having MJ willingly break up with Peter to stay with that human turd Paul Rabin (still very happy she finally broke up with him before he died). At the very least, it took a very powerful demon to erase Peter and Mary Jane’s marriage, that piece of garbage that happened with Paul only took a writer going through his own relationship issues and took it out on the comic, tainting his own reputation.
I think best feature of this issue was definitely Spider-Man kicking Fisk’s ass, again. And confirming that the beatdown Spider-Man gave him in prison, slapping Fisk around like a little b!tch for everyone to see, is still cannon. That was probably one of my absolute favorite moments in all of Spider-Man comic history.
I’m not sure it’s a retelling, just another thing Spidey did at this time. I realize that it’s kind of meaningless at this point. I mean, this was about twenty years ago, now. So, I don’t really see the point in writing this unless it somehow has bearing in future comics.
Either that, or they’re just trying to add some filler between titles. In which case, that would be very lame.
Ultimate was great and did right by the source material, but it was the original Spider-Man TAS that set the standard. Excellent animation and writing, kid friendly yet just mature enough to be taken seriously.
I respectfully disagree , it had better writing than what the current era ever have right now . joe is slowly cleaning up the mess from ZEB, but a least in those days u had a married peter and MJ, they had their up and down but love conquer all type and keep going mentally. now it I have fake kids and a weak ass bf (paul) playing fake dad and need to leave u because of this. ๐ค ๐

slott and BND, two of the worst things in spider publishing history…epic torture level
he was perhaps the worst writer ever about the spider, not only did he copy and copy old ideas and recycle them but he did it badly, where he puts his hands at best he bores, at worst he destroys the characters, in the USA they went so far as to send violent threats to his home (crazy behaviour) as much as they hated him

So basicly, just a retailling of BND ?
Nothing interesting then.

It’s a retailling because it’s their only option left to make a Spider-man story that do not progress the characet, one of the reason why OMD happen.
They want a stagnat Spider-man so they can wrote just mindless action story over and over, but it has cleary ruinning it’s course.
agree
I miss the 90’s , the best Spidey stories and writing of all time๐ญ
Grew up on that throughout my childhood. Totally agree.
I grew up on Ultimate; nothing beats that
Ultimate was great and did right by the source material, but it was the original Spider-Man TAS that set the standard. Excellent animation and writing, kid friendly yet just mature enough to be taken seriously.
Yeah TAS is good, but the rest of the 90s wasn’t. 90s was peak x-men era, not spidey
Not clone saga
Yup and the fox kids spiderman cartoon!! , the longest comic saga in history , belong to the clone saga.
yeah and it was bad…

Slott isn’t that bad, he had a long run with some good highs
he was perhaps the worst writer ever about the spider, not only did he copy and copy old ideas and recycle them but he did it badly, where he puts his hands at best he bores, at worst he destroys the characters, in the USA they went so far as to send violent threats to his home (crazy behaviour) as much as they hated him
then don’t read it bro
I’m a continuity addict, unfortunately good writers also take into account the rubbish that is written and so we have to know about it
