Dude, marvel and DC , have many soft reboot and new literation of their characters, so u may get confused, now a character that have continue from day 1 and never reboot , but he may be a little dark for u, if u can take it is SPAWN!!, and for indies right now try ghost pepper. but for marvel and dc. it your choice if u want to read over 40 to 50 years of a character like spiderman for eg.

Witch blade and Darkness from Image/top cow , both was reboot from last year and are very good
