Iโฆ really donโt like Jo. At all.
1. She apparently cheated on her wife, then instead of even trying to apologize is blaming her as a workaholic for not making her (Jo) her only priority.
2. When asked to take off the ring she says is the source of her power, she gets hostile, as if being asked to remove even a wedding ring by her EX-wife would by such a huge faux pas. And ignoring that it isnโt about her feelings, itโs about her power source and trying to work things out.
3. She responds to Cameron trying to do her job with a potential alien invasion by saying “you arenโt here for me”. There wasnโt anything about never coming back or never talking, just “I need to get to the office to figure this out”.
All in all, coupled with Cameron seeming pretty collected all things considered, it makes me wonder why the writers want us to root for her. Unless this is a lead in to some revelation sheโll have about being a better person, it just seems like a horrible person who avoids her problems until she HAS to face them, and causes most of them herself.
None of this is to say the story canโt get better. But itโs not a great start to show that sheโs so selfish.

it was shown in an earlier issue that cameron is absolutely a workaholic, she was angry that she was on paid leave. Jo shouldnโt have cheated, but i donโt think it makes the story bad. itโs a human thing, and when Jo feels neglected she had a low point and slept with a woman who showed her significant attention. i donโt condone cheating but especially for a book this is a very compelling storyline
It’s almost like having a woman with flaws is what you all cry about and then once we get a woman with flaws as a main character all a sudden it’s a problem?
Not just emotional abuse from the cheating, but she also a) refuses to apologize, b) seems to think EVERYTHING needs to be about her at all times (taking off her ring being some massive faux pas, rather than just trying to figure out how her powers work, saying Cameron isnโt there for HER when sheโฆ has to go to work that day).
If this is who Cameron married, I kind of wish she hadnโt let her inside.
She still shows remorse for her actions and the series just started so saying shes the “villain” just because she did something a lot of people have done before “which makes the character more relatable” is just dumb
You’d be surprised how many people have actually cheated on their partners. I’ve been cheated on before and it doesnt feel great but I wouldn’t call him a villain for it.
Whoa now, wierdo? All I said is I don’t believe cheating makes you a supervillain. Nor do I condone cheating! I wouldn’t want cheating to be normalized, nor did I ever imply that? All I pointed out was that it’s insanely common when it shouldn’t be.
Ive been cheated on too. I coped at first and said she was justified. But after getting close to people who cheat, I finally understand that its a power trip for them. I no longer associate with people who cheat or put up with them. Im so glad I made that change, never been happier or committed to healthier relationships :).
You’re right. A lot of abusers show remorse for their actions, and a lot of people are abusive towards others. Doesn’t make it right. Personally im not going to defend abuse, but you have every right.
Tons of male protags cheat and now it’s “disgusting”? Wolverine, Cyclops, Daredevil, Nightwing, Batman… for them it’s a moment of vulnerability, a weakness. but now she’s a villain? Lol be serious. Flawed protagonists are inherently more interesting

nothing like having the big evil white man, more hal slander more ignorance of bisexual character as just being gay we LOVE TO SEE IT
With Hal’s short-term corruption as the Black Hand (a la Parallax) done, I guess the corpse of the police chief will be returning to the land of the living soon.
And I appreciate the detail that’s Jo’s side of the wedding, especially the front row, is empty, implying her ass of a dad didn’t come.

Seems like they picked a pretty good backstory for her to start from while she achieves enlightenment. Honestly, as a hopeless romantic, I hope they make up. Not just her and her ex, I mean all three of them. Be they friends or a healthy polycule or whatever.

I really like Absolute Green Lantern. Top 3 Absolute book for me.
The only mark I’d have against it is the artwork. I think all the other Absolute books have such unique and distinctive art styles to it. I don’t think Absolute GL’s art is bad, but it’s a bit flat compared to Absolute Bats, WW, MM, etc.

The cheating woman is a main hero? disgusting
It’s almost like having a woman with flaws is what you all cry about and then once we get a woman with flaws as a main character all a sudden it’s a problem?
That’s a pretty disgusting flaw, she is a villain here honestly.
I totally agree with you. Cheating is not a “flaw.” A flaw IS NOT emotional abuse.
Agreed!

A lot of people HAVEN’T done this though?
You’d be surprised how many people have actually cheated on their partners. I’ve been cheated on before and it doesnt feel great but I wouldn’t call him a villain for it.
Get help wierdo, it isn’t normal just because YOU want it to be with your “interactions”.

Why are you always so NEGATIVE.
What the fuck are you talking about, hal is clearly not the villain???
your so retarted you somehow ignored the clear white man that is not just Hal Jordan you fucking moron
