I really loved this arc with Norman as spidey. It helps tie his redemption all together and the writers do a great job of showing Norman’s personal side and thoughts. John Romita Jr. is epic as always (one of the most profilic Spider-man artists ever, up there with Chechetto, Ditko, and Bagley)

Seeing Norman like this is interesting theyโve been going hard on that redemption of his. I do wonder if the green goblin is going to come calling soon

As far as stand-ins and substitutes go, Norman did a pretty good job as far as I’m concerned. Norman being Spider-Man was not something I was counting on when this arc started; I was actually expecting Ben Reily to be taking the role of Spider-Man in Peter’s absence, but this was better. Norman taking on the mantle of Spider-Man was definitely a helluva lot better than that POS thing when Spider-Man was possessed by the evil of the Green Goblin that Zeb Welles did, that’s for damned sure.
I think it was a fun ride, seeing Norman literally walking in Spider-Man’s shoes for a change, seeing what he has to deal with every day and putting up with the trauma of being New York’s #1 webslinger, and I think it was pretty damned cool that he did it all without true spider powers but by using his own technological capabilities. And I definitely like that Norman Spider-Man was a bit more edgy and brutal than Peter was, which made him stand out all the more as a Spider-Man.
But now, the ride is over. Spider-Man has returned to reclaim his true place on planet Earth. I just hope the damned city will appreciate having him, even if it’s just a little bit.

Peter’s back. Now time for that Spiral. I have to admit I just don’t have a good feeling about that. I hate to say it but if that brings him and Mary Jane back together I might be through.
Iโve said ever since Norman lost his sins the best thing they could do writing wise is have it be revealed via Norman going mad and returning as the Green Goblin that he admits in front of Peter and MJ that he really did kidnap their child and faked that it was still born forcing Peter to truly hate Norman and have Peter and MJ look for their daughter. They wouldnโt have to end up back together but this would allow a more mature Peter who eventually finds his kid and has to balance his job, his superhero life and fatherhood while sharing custody with MJ (maybe bringing them back together). This would link back to why Mephisto agreed to OMD (as it was later revealed that Mephisto fears the child of Spider-Man as they are destined to finally destroy Mephisto) and have Peter grow up which many if not most fans want as well as have Norman back as a true villain.
I agree on bringing the daughter back , marvel make all your female characters gay or bi whatever, as long as my #1 hero Spidey get back his daughter and wife back!!!!
