In 1974 year outlets for underground cartoonists were quickly drying up, seeing if they could be made more mainstream Marvel brought out the Comix Book in black and white magazine format, despite the superior distribution connections of Marvel it only lasted 3 issues.
It was later revived briefly by Kitchen Sink.
