Vol 1: March 1964 – Jun/Jul 1973
The Doom Patrol title was formerly known as
My Greatest Adventure and began publication as The Doom Patrol in 1964 with issue #86. The series was cancelled with the climactic deaths of the title characters in issue #121, but resurfaced in 1973 for three issues, all of which were reprints of older Doom Patrol tales. A new Doom Patrol team appeared in 1977 in Showcase #95-#97 and became recurring characters in Supergirl’s backup feature in Superman Family and her second series. With the exception of a few appearances, the team remained in limbo until the series was revived once again in 1987 with Doom Patrol (Volume 2).
Vol 2: October 1987 – February 1995
When Celsius finds the wheelchair of her late husband Niles Caulder, she begins a journey to find the supposedly dead members of Doom Patrol and recruits Robotman and Tempest to aid her in her quest.
Vol 3: December 2001 – September 2003
Comics’ strangest super-team is back! Multi-billionaire Thayer Jost is looking to buy his very own superteam, paying Cliff Steele, formerly known as Robotman, for his services and leadership skills, as well as the Doom Patrol name. With four new members rounding out the team, Ava, Fever, Kid Slick, and Ted Bruder, will the latest incarnation of the Doom Patrol even survive their first mission?
Vol 4: August 2004 – January 2006
