The first 21 issues are written and drawn by Russ Manning. His beautiful art is assisted by Mike Royer in many issues as an inker, and sometimes a background penciler. Issue #22 is a reprint of #1. Issues #23-28 consist of new stories by various writers and artists. The remaining issues (#29-46) reprint Russ Manning’s stories in random order.
Magnus also appears in back-up strips in the final issues of Doctor Solar #29-31 that were published in 1981/82 under the Whitman banner (written by Roger McKenzie and drawn by Frank Bolle).
