Vol 1: Oct/Nov 1973 – Aug/Sep 1975
Author Denny O’Neil and artist Mike Kaluta presented their atmospheric interpretation of Walter B.Gibson’s pulp-fiction mystery man of the 1930’s. The series began with the Shadow posing as wealthy socialite Lamont Cranson in order to trick Wall Street broker Osgood Bamber into confiding in him. By doing so, the Shadow and his crime solving partner Margo Lane foiled a robbery orchestrated by the villain. The Shado w ran for 12 issues before disappearing into the darkness of cancellation.

Vol 2: 1986
James Robinson returns to the world of his acclaimed STARMAN series with a new 12-issue series starring the antihero known as The Shade! An attack at the Starman museum kicks off a globe-hopping, centuries spanning quest that will irrevocably change The Shade’s life, and ultimately shed light on his true origin!

Vol 3: August 1987 – January 1989
Coming off of Howard Chaykin’s controversial mini-series The Shadow (1986), came this new ongoing written by the previous volume’s editor Andy Helfer, with artists Bill Sienkiewicz and later Kyle Baker.
Followed by The Shadow Strikes.
