For someone who began reading DC comics in the 90′, I felt DCU peaked in the early 2000 after infinite crisis to brightest day, when all the grim era is rectified and everything is so bright and hopeful un the DCU, then they completely lost me after flashpoint with the new 52. right now I’m still confused if this new earth or universe that we are reading the story on is it the an alternate earth, since there’s a pre flashpoint superman running around the new 52 from convergence, and the new 52 superman died and they merged and become a superman. So the rest of the new 52 heroes are not the same heroes from pre flashpoint? sadly this new history series didn’t addressed my question. ๐
Did you read the issue? It explains what happened. It’s all one continuous timeline, that’s the point of this series. They are the same characters. The effects of Flashpoint were just a momentary interruption but everything was restored. The history explained in the series is the history everyone remembers in the universe.
I don’t know man, cos what I see that people are saying post COIE till pre-flashpoint earth is new earth and it ended at flashpoint (hence the convergence superman was from new earth), post flashpoint earth is earth prime which is similar to new earth, so what did Dr. Manhattan do at the end of Doomday Clock? merged new earth to earth prime? Seriously I would really want to see they talked about the Convergence storyline in this history, cos Convergence not only gave us the pre flashpoint Superman, it also gave us the Parallax possessed Hal Jordan in the currently universe, and to complicate the matter, there is another Parallax in this universe thanks to what happened in that Zero Hour Anniversary, so altogether now there is 3 parallax, unless based on what this history series, it’s not mentioned so it is retcon out.
so…it is consider pre-flashpoint state but with some tweak i supposed. cos as my reply to the poster above, the Convergence story does make a lot of thing complicated. post COIE/pre-flashpoint power girl is in search for her Earth2 Superman, COIE/pre-flashpoint superman have the adopted son Chris Kent. so i guessed all these are dropped and no longer talked about then.

well, so it ends…ive enjoyed the story, seein how they woven all the past history. only thing i dont like…theres no timeline at the end like the previous issues. y??! best part…ugh
