Man, I hate this origin they gave Starscream. I get why they did itโto add more depth to his characterโbut being a conniving, power-hungry shitheadย isย his character. The backstory just feels unnecessary; heโs always been written to be hated.
Considering the back-lash Transformers got since they killed him off in G1 to the point they had to make him immortal, this was necessary. We’ve generally never had any kind of depth on Starscream or really any character because backstories are not really relevant or talked about. Views watching Transformers also been demanding more Starscream even though he is in almost every piece of the franchise, especially since Shattered Glass was barely Starscream, and fans did not enjoy the end especially killing off Starscream when he was the main character. Fans also are starting to hate the idea of him being written to be a fool or hated, ever since armada. I hope this provided some insight.
