At first I was afraid TC was going back to the ‘cons when he said that Skywarp’s sacrifice was a necessary good to the Decepticon cause. But then at the end, the sigh I sighed when he finally said that he’d chosen his side :”) It’l take time for the ‘bots to trust him, but I’m hoping everything will end well and he’ll make good friends ๐ can’t wait for the future interactions!!
Btw kinda salty that they always portray TC with a broader, blockish-squarish, less refined face than his trinemates. Like, I want a pointy-nose-skinny-face Thundercracker too. Nothing against that kind of face… but it better suits Megatron or another heavy-frame. I like it when my seekers share characteristics and kinda look alike… I know TC is supposed to be bigger than other seekers, but not uglier… anyways.
Speaking of the way bots look, I absolutely love the new design of Cliff. He’s really cute; I don’t expect any minibot to look less than that. Minibots ARE cute. And Elita, insufferable, but looking mad beautiful here. I love the art overall. All the bots are beautiful and refined, that’s how I like my mecha.
Although I don’t know how to feel with Spike and Carly (now more detailed) looking like siblings, since yk, they’re a couple… They look mad alike for someone who I thought was fully white (Spike) and perhaps wasian (Carly). Oh well. I’d suck it up, what can I say. Art is still gorgeous. Sad that Dan Mora will leave in a few issues, what a shame.
I’d need to read the series again from the start, but…
For one, she cannot ask Optimus to sacrifice Earth to produce energon for Cybertron, and expect him to accept it just like that. Optimus would never sacrifice innocent human lives for his gain. We already saw how he regretted destroying Shockwave even though that mf was killing sealife like he was making guacamole lol. I understand she has suffered a lot. But her wanting to use Earth, actual lives, that are conscious and can speak for themselves, means she won’t stop at nothing to restore Cybertron. She’s at that Decepticon level. She won’t even try and talk to Earth superiors, or find a way to not juice out the planet completely. She just wants to take and wants Optimus to say the word so she can just go ahead and do it.
For two, I won’t try and say I understand what she’s going through, I do not. I can’t even IMAGINE what going through thousands of years of war can do to you. However, she is now the replacement for Optimus in Cybertron. All Autobots fight under her command. If she already thought they were losing since long ago, then she would’have tried to make a deal with the Decepticons (since there was no Megatron nor high command or elite trine). OR. Just leave the planet and find refuge elsewhere. The planet is already destroyed. She sends her Autobots fight for a dead Cybertron, and she knows they’ll all die because the Decepticons won’t stop fighting either. Basically like current countries at war that keep sending soldiers and asking for money to keep the war going on because they’re not ready to accept their loses, even though they’re already losing lives and territory. She could’ve left Cybertron to find ressources elsewhere. She wants to think Optimus is their savior because she needs hope, she needs to believe in something. She forgot Optimus is just another mech who has more wisdom due to the Matrix, but is not immortal nor invincible.
Now talking about Optimus is… oof another thing, I don’t even want to write anymore hh.
Btw I hope you understand my point, sorry for any grammatical mistakes, English is not my first language. I really love Elita, a lot. I’m mad she acts like a mean girl; I just want a G1 Elita all over again. But I understand someone in high command needs to take that role of ‘wanting to risk it all for a greater good’. It’s either her, Ultra Magnus or Prowl. It happened to be her in Skybound.
Honestly I was kinda ‘worried’ ur reason was gonna be smth like “Optimus is supreme nobody can go against him gngngn”, it does makes lots of sense that you might not like the role she took. Though I can’t lie I kinda like it, as in it’s a trope that I really appreciate, and personally I do think that both Optimus and Elita are right in a way, like if I was Elita I’d also feel betrayed and angry about that, especially since she’s been fighting for longer, technically. But OP is also right in his conviction and betraying them would mean betraying the cause AHR I’m so curious abt how things will go from now on
Glad you undestood what I meant earlier:) While I do not like the role (for Elita to have), I agree with you; that trope IS good, great even. Makes for a lot of drama and angst and blahblah ‘what if’s. I’m just sad I probably won’t have my Oplita happy ending… –
I have mixed feelings about Optimus being so… uh, mesmerized by Earth. I think he misses how colourful and ALIVE, Cybertron used to be, and Earth reminds him of it. Of what they lost due to this pointless war. They fought to protect the planet but ended up killing it. What’s the point. A part of me thinks that Optimus is so personally invested in our planet because he wants to compensate for what he couldn’t do for Cybertron.

Lowkey I want smth tragic to happen to him again, but this time he finally realises that he fckd up. I wonder though if he’ll ever change his mind… he’s one loyal-as-hell stubborn mf.
I wish smth like that’ll happen. I really do need a situation in which TC can help the Autobots in order to earn their trust, specially from those bots who distrust him the most.
