The art is good , but the story is confusing or just a waste, as long there is no Constantine in this , rather Bruce make an appearance .

The art is fantastic. I really liked the first 2/3 of the story but, the ending got muddled. This is better than the mini-series before this one, and love the Prime Magus (sorcerer supreme, lol) idea. I like it but wish that I loved it.
I say the story needs work because I really don’t understand what’s going on. Like I don’t really have a clue what this story is about. Appreciate if you could explain it to me.
So, from what I understand, and I could be wrong, the first issue set us up with Zatanna becoming the Prime Magus. Which I never heard of before but, it seems to be the equivalent of the sorcerer supreme but for DC. Bones and Cameron are creating/running a new occult affairs department, and they are not happy that Zatanna succeeded in getting the spirit they were after. It makes them look bad. During the process of getting the spirit it looks like Zatanna took on some magic toxicity, and had to cleanse herself of it (I’m assuming that’s the bath scene). I’m assuming that is part of the whole “magic has a price” thing.
The guy with the x’s for eyes is an agent who it appears by the end, has tried to have her killed/shot, but has had her injured instead, and has gotten/stolen the spirit. I think the spirit still hasn’t resolved it’s issues of missing it’s opera singer love that has died.
Now that part of the issue I liked. Apparently in France about 2 or 3 hundred years ago there was a singer who was just amazing. Her muse was this spirit Aede. Well, the spirit was in mourning for the singer that passed and was acting out so to speak, hence why Zatanna and the occult affairs people were after it. Zatanna got it, as we know, and she enlisted Papa Midnite to help her find a way to ease or release the spirit in pain. To help it “move on” I guess. He, in turn, enlists a singer spirit friend Elodie. She is the one that tells us the story of the opera singer and the muse spirit.
In the end, X eyes has the spirit Aede, who still doesn’t seem happy, and Zatanna is injured.
The problem with the storytelling is that it jumps around a lot without exposition explaining things as well as it should. Also, Zatanna talks to an audience, maybe us as the reader, but it doesn’t seem to me like she’s necessarily breaking the 4th wall like Deadpool. So that adds to the confusion because you’re like, “are we at her show, or the story.,”? It’s easy once you realize there are two forms of narration going on in the series. But, it takes a minute to get there.
I hope this helps!!! I didn’t proofread this so, I hope it makes sense.

Loving the art but the story needs work.
U got that right .
I just don’t understand what the story is about. That would help a good amount.
