Seeing MJ even after she left Paul, because not a single person like that plot device. Still feels like a gutkick. They’d need to reset the entire universe before marvel comics can be salvaged.

OK. It’s great to see MJ trying to put her life together and stand on her own feet as an independent person instead of some kind of appendage attached to someone else. But until Paul’s 100% out of her life, she’s never going to get rid of the stink Zeb Wells smeared all over her character. The writers have their work seriously cut out for them to make Mary Jane popular again.
I think having her break up with Paul is actually better than having him killed or die off. This way, he leaves no lasting emotional impact on her. By coming to the mature realization that she and that topknot-wearing-turd are not meant to be together shows that MJ is not a complete moron, and that there’s some hope for her character.
However, having said that, now that Mary Jane has come to her senses and is leaving Paul, now would be the perfect time to have Paul killed off or kick his ass into some parallel dimension. Until that soy-burger-eating beta male is completely erased from existence, they’re never going to get rider of the pile of crap Zeb Wells dumped all over the Spider-Man comics.
Maybe Jay & Silent Bob can ring Paul into some crazy, random bullsh!t that results in his ignominious demise.
