So my best guess is that May and Ben got pregnant as teens (maybe in high school?) and made the decision to give the baby up for adoption. Or this is going to be another chapter in the endless clone saga, complete with implanted memories and other such nonsense.

On an unrelated note, what a perfect storm of romantic interest for Peter to try and navigate. There’s space girlfriend, Astrid hitting on him, and MJ over in the Venom series telling (hinting) that she still has feelings for him, but that she wants to focus on their friendship and see where things go from there.

However, knowing Lowe, it’s all going to blow up in his face anyways.

I like your first guess better than your second because that would be much better story telling.

Agree , with nick lowe F##^%$ up things again, but Ewing( writer) a least he left the door open for another writer if it not him or JOE to bring together that back down the road.

Now that was a plot twist , I thought peter was going to be the cousin son, or he find out he not a parker by genetic, but this was great writing. Now I investing more in this family drama. 3 things can happen from this fall out. 1 peter become more distance from aunt may, because aunt may , no longer want to be a mother figure to him because of her real son. 2.the cousin will figure out already with the DNA test , he suspect peter is Spider-Man and use that as lavage and try to ruining peter life for his gain that will caused a riffle effect in the parker family . or 3 peter can finally move on from aunt may , as much as it hurt for him. her being the best mother like figure in all of comic. but need to move on from her to not have that burden over him again and start over new in a way. not meaning being cold to her , but less interaction with her , since she have a son now and peter need to make his own family for real with MJ if possible , felicia or another woman who right for him, ( not alien girl and no more damsel in distress) ( yes I love aunt may but she should have dies back 07 OMD , when peter had to choose between her and MJ marriage)

I find it somewhat weird that Peter’s family seems to have a lot of secrets that he isn’t fully aware of. His parents were secret agents, he had a long-lost sister he didn’t know about, know he finds out that his beloved aunt, one of key people in his life, had a son this whole time. It really makes me wonder what other kind of skeletons the Parker family tree might be hiding in their closets. Maybe we later find out that Uncle Ben was part of some kind of conspiracy, or maybe Peter has some kind of evil uncle on his mother’s side. We can just never tell with this family.

Holy crap! Not even one issue after the whole Spyral Arc, we get hit in the head with this curveball? When it was revealed that Peter Parker had a cousin, I assumed it was some distant relation-type of cousin. Instead, we find out he’s Aunt May’s long-lost son or something?! This is the kind of quality writing I think Spider-Man has been missing out on the last few years. Plot twists, unseen variables and unexpected WTF moments. Now, I’m actually interested in seeing where things go from here with Spider-Man’s personal life instead of dreading it.

On to the other matters of this comic. First, Kintsugi. That kid is more of a badass then I realized if he’s being a superhero while simultaneously battling cancer or whatever terminal illness he has. That is the ultimate battle anyone can face. This actually makes me more invested to see how his story goes than say Ms. Marvel because this kid is wholly unique in his story. A teenager inspired to be a hero by Spider-Man while fighting against cancer? Has that ever been done before? That’s a battle everyone should want to see him win.

Onto Brian Nehring. This guy seemed like a total douche-canoe since the first time we saw him, and it’s not just because he was clearly a bad influence on Peter during his adolescent years. Now, on the one hand, I have to give the writers credit for originality here. You could fill a New York City parade with supervillains who got their powers due to a freak accident of science or some kind of experiment, but a supervillain whose theme and superpower is based mushrooms? That’s something entirely original, and I actually think that kind of theme is pretty cool, and not just because I like matsutake mushrooms. But on the other hand, this whole “old-friend-of-Peter’s-who-became-a-scientist-then-became-a-villain-because-of-stupid-science-and-now-he’s-going-to-blame-Peter-for-his-mistakes” has been done before and it almost played out exactly like this. Way back in “Amazing Spider-Man” Issue #518, and old friend of Peter’s who sought his help with some kind of science thing became a freak metal man and blamed Peter, which led to Aunt May’s house burning down, Peter, May and MJ moving to Avengers Tower, and soon enough May hooking up with Jarvis. I almost feel like this is a complete rehash of what happened almost twenty years ago, but I can ignore just because of the originality of the mushroom thing.

How is that Peter always seems to have such game, has never seemed to lack for ladies who end up digging him, but he’s almost never entirely successful in love? The most he ever gets is temporary success in love. He’s got about as many exes as Iron Man has suits of armor, and Astrid here definitely wants to join that particularly exclusive club.
