I don’t know why I keep hoping that Dr. Ellis might be different from the other enemies the X-Men have picked up over the years, but all we keep getting is more of the same cookie-cutter bullcrap, no different than Ahab, Graydon Creed or Bolivar Trask. I thought I hated her back when she ordered her men to bust Calico’s teeth out, but after seeing her callously disregard Uva and her mother, I want to see this bitch get royally stomped on. Her, and her punkass yes-man.
I mean it is marvel. But the only time they let people cut lose is when it doesn’t matter. Like the time they had an eco-terrorist mutant killing store owners because one of their customers their plastic bag ended un in a river. But I’d really just like to see wolverine dice these people up. Or better, just grab a gun. Because when you are a murder machine with unbreakable knives how much better is it just to do something so impersonal and grab a gun and put one between her eyes?
Ugh! Please don’t remind me of Armageddon Girl. If there was someone who deserved to get totally destroyed (and there was more than one) she was definitely one of them. Just one more example of why I hated that Krakoan Era.
That aside, I agree with what you’re saying as far as characters cutting loose and laying waste.
Having Wolverine, or any other mutant for that matter, go ballistic on Dr. Ellis and Greymalkin would be predictable and boring as far as I’m concerned. If they want to do something new and original and full of righteous fury, they should have a mob of pissed off humans storm the damn place and stone Dr. Ellis to death; demonstrate that not only are the vast majority of humans not anti-mutant, but that people are sick of individuals like Dr. Ellis thinking they can just do their sick BS want without consequence. That would be interesting, I think.
Like, we already feel uneasy about the whole race hate DR. Ellis but you left an innocent girl and her mother to the whims of bandits because you are a demon in human skin, F you. Also I disagree about predictability being inherently boring I’d love to see wolverine dice her up any day of the week.
