I like his remark about peters from earth coming to his rescue

Okay, so the Ben thing you could see coming a mile away, but I’ll admit that Norman Osborne filling in as Spider-Man was a curve I didn’t anticipate.
This also sets up a confrontation when Peter does return. Wells had Ben hiding in the shadows, creeping on Peter’s double-date (ugh) with MJ and Paul, thinking to himself that he was going to claim Peter’s life as his own, and now he’s … actually kind of done it?
Or is he just holding his place in line?

Maybe while in Peter’s place he could realise this is his life anymore and never will be but he can smack something into peter to make priorities his life more and focus on rebuilding it before becoming a hero again

holy shit peter becoming stronger ! peter is actualy improving and not regresing what the fuck is going on here, i’m going to ignore that mesuring chain and just round it up as peter is 100x stronger than his past self that is literaly a MASSIVE boost in just raw strenght, all he needs is to get his martial art skill again. Because that shang chi fuck ass writer had the balls of retconing it away from his bag because he got lazy. If peter comes back and is now fully commit on being a sciantist and using his Reed richard level intelect again and actualy improving on his suit, crime fighting and self like batman i will literaly blow the writer until my jaw stop working and my knees need to be operated

Ill go the extra miles if they keep peter in space for a few years and have him help around neiberhoods in space spreading his ways and good nature

He said that Peter was 100x stronger than the average human on earth. I thought he was only 10x stronger? So either peter’s training has been paying off or something else.

god imagine if he keeps the suit he has but simply put a new layer of unstable molicule on top of it to give it its classic appearance. it could be so peak

So true, that suit looks sick by itself but in the classic colours it would be awesome

Or better yet a MILES MORALES version of this suit would be killer too.

In the comics it has been said that Peters base strength is to lift 10 tons. When pushed he has lifted even more, 15-20 tons. That’s way more than 10x stronger.

peter has lift in the 100+ tons without problems

i think that its not just 100x stronger than the average human because that would make no sense i think he means that hes stronger than 99.999% of humanity (supers included) meaning that he basicaly only bellow the ultra heavy hitters (thor, hulk, hercules etc…)

So Ben has memories of being a young Peter but is still Chasm who is missing his memoryโ€ฆ.this was such a dumb idea

I’m not sure that was Ben at the beginning of this volume when we saw Peter’s “rebel phase”. Back then, we saw him go back and forth between being Peter and Spider-Man.

At the beginning of the last issue we have Ben โ€œrememberingโ€ so it was specifically that that I was talking about plus how he interacts with Brian

Okay this was actually better than I feared and not as terrible as I hoped. Ben Reilly replacing Peter Parker was a forgone conclusion, I think. I mean, we all probably saw this coming, but clearly, Ben has mellowed by a great deal. Rather than trying to replace Peter, it seems more like he’s trying to keep his seat warm until he gets back.

Personally, I’ve actually felt pretty sorry for Ben and I think he’s gotten a pretty raw deal. After getting gaslit and mind-f*cked by Maxine Danger and Beyond Corp, I think he’s just as much a victim. The real test of Ben’s character is going to be not if but WHEN Peter gets back from being lost in space. He’s finally achieved his lifelong somewhat sad and definitely not sane ambition of replacing Peter, so will he be able to give that up when the genuine article comes back?

And as the clone that’s the closest and probably know Peter the best, what Ben did with shutting the door on MJ’s face was probably what he know Peter would have done if he was actually there, so I’m still going to get catharsis out of that.

Norman becoming Spider-Man? Now that I did not see coming. And I think it’s a helluva lot better than that piece of crap that Zeb Wells did with Spider-Man becoming the Green Goblin, sort of. While he’s obviously taking a harder stance on criminals than Peter, he’s clearly better for the job than Chasm because he’s still making sure civilians don’t get hurt.

And if I’m being totally honest, I don’t blame Norman for being more brutal than Peter. Not only does he not have Parker’s powers, he has to be tougher in order to get the job done, but as a former villain of New York, he knows better than anyone the kind of garbage these supervillains are and how badly they need to get put down.

Now, Peter Parker Lost in Space. I think it’s about time Spider-Man had himself an epic space odyssey. And what a way to start it off. I love it when writers do such good storytelling that it’s not predictable. Any story that leads to Spider-Man having a new costume is usually a good one. And it definitely adds content to that question Ben asked Felicia, “Why doesn’t Peter want to come back”? Maybe he’ll get more respect and appreciation in space from a bunch of aliens he’s never met than he ever did in his native New York? That might be a good reason. And who knows? Maybe Peter will get himself a hot space babe girlfriend while he’s there? Rub that in MJ’s face.

Nice to see Rapid again and that he’s still trying to do good by his loved ones. And the fact that his actions were appreciated was good to see.
