Right? That entire volume that introduced them was 13 issues of wasted time, with them being nothing but a bunch of rudderless dipsh!ts who couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag, but now they’re supposed to be some kind of badasses? Super hard pass.

I like the X-Men going back to their roots and kitty have come out of her depression from that god awful so call X-Men series she was in. but hell again putting Scott as the bad guy with drama is getting overrated guys( writer) !! back in the days he was like steven rogers of the X-Men, the guy with calm and wisdom.
I agree with what you’re saying about Kitty and the fact that the X-Men are returning to their roots, which I’ve been waiting for years now. The only thing that I didn’t really like was them showing off Kitty’s students like they some kind of impressive upper classmen when they were a motley crew of screw-ups not that long ago. The Outliers from New Orleans would have been better I think because they’ve actually accomplished some impressive feats for new students.
Agree, kitty students acting like they have more experience to the other young team from rouge is garbage , they barley had battle and team work compare to the other young team that act more like a real next class X-Men( generation x/new mutant ) team .
Yeah, I mean, let’s be honest here for a quick minute (One Quick Minute Later…), Rogue’s students could kick the crap out of Kitty’s students any day of the week. They had Rogue, Nightcrawler, Gambit, Jubilee and Wolverine showing them the ropes. Kitty’s students are a bunch of angsty teenage cliches by comparison. I’m getting this image in my head of them playing dodgeball against each other and what a hilarious execution it would be for Team Kitty.
Well I be honest and don’t give a !!##** who feeling I hurt in this woke society, that exceptional X-Men garbage was for pushing an agenda and was for a minor group of people who don’t really read or understand the X-Men or comics in general !!! and the writer of that bk and now this , is the same writer EVE L Ewing. so what do u expect , that your clue there. Hopefully she got veteran writer around her to help her improve this book. or this is a 10 issue quickie!!
Testify, buddy. I agree with 100%. Socio-political agendas are spelling the end of good comic books, stories and other forms of entertainment in general. And the fact that they use long-established characters and franchises to push their damned agenda and beliefs is what spells the end for far too many comics and their characters.
What agenda exactly? (seriously asking) I do agree that the outliers, shit maybe even deathdream himself, could take on all of Kitty’s team. Where even are the outliers smh
The non-too subtle and thinly veiled woke agenda. For example, Kitty Pryde. For decades now, she has been portrayed as a heterosexual woman with her most significant relationship being with Colossus. Then, out of nowhere, out of the blue, the writers decide to go and make her suddenly bisexual, for no greater reason than to pander to the alphabet mafia, or because they felt like it because it suited them. The same thing with Iceman, who, also for decades, was straight, but they write up a whole new comic volume to go ahead and make him gay.
The entire Krakoan Era was also nothing but thinly veiled race bating where they created a culture based on racial separatism, genetic supremacy, the worst of which was demonstrated in how badly they treated Mr. Fantastic and Susan Storm’s son, Franklin. Just for that, I was so happy to see the Krakoan Era burn.
I feel like X-men has always been about discrimination and the ability for the readers to see themselves in the characters and so it makes sense for fan favorite characters to develop current real world idealogies/traits in the comics too. While I do have an issue with they way they portray these idealogies, Icemans solo comic for example is just gay fanfic that feels like it was written by a homophobe to me, I do think its important to normalize in the comic space.
I have no issue with them coming up with and writing about a character who happens to be gay or bi, per se, much like Felicia Hardy or Batwoman who, from the beginning, were always portrayed respectively as bi and homosexual. What I take issue with is the writers commandeering an established character that someone else has written and then changing them up to suit their own narrative and force others to accept it. If they want to make a homo/bi or whatever character to portray those values, they should make up someone who is original and portrays what they’re trying to send out. That would show actual skill as writers and the quality of the characters they make.
There is a lot my friend , if u didn’t read exceptional X-Men, then u wouldn’t understand and if u did , then u may be of this new generation that believe in that type of writing ( no offence ), I wont point it out the stuff in that, because they say I sexist , hemophic and racist lol ( my feeling is so hurt lol). but do agree on death dream is one young powerful mutant , that have not reach his potential yet . could be an omega down the rd. if written right.
we in the 21st century my guy lmaoo just enjoy the comic its so much more about the actual storylines we can get hung up on and yeah I could see that happening but knowing marvel that team will be delegated to guest appearances in a few months
Agree on the guest part, marvel is like the movie critics , they think they know what best for us and hate us for our feed back and stuff we want and enjoy
I think you just describe half the entertainment industry right there.

The arts terrible the writing meh, Iโm not really sold. Wolverine being negligent in a training situation, cyclops being that overactive, glob being a smart ass, a lot of it seems off
Yeah. After further reflection, it does seem like they’re really trying to for it to work.

Alright, good start. It’s great to see the X-Men returning to their roots and going back to what they were meant to be. The only thing I think would have made this better is if the Outliers from New Orleans, Deathdream, Calico, Ember, Jitters and Ransom made an appearance. I think they’re more qualified to be assistants than Kitty Pryde’s crew. And, personally, I’m glad Rogue addressed the elephant in the room and admitted that X-Men have been their own worst enemy more than once. Hopefully, they’ll move on past the mistakes they made in Krakoa and teach this new generation of mutants the true message of Xavier’s dream.
Xavierโs dream is outdated. It needed to happen so that people like Magneto can oppose him and show the other side of mutant freedom, but both of their ideas are heavily flawed. Xavier has let humans walk over him time and time again. Magneto hasnโt let any humans get a chance to compromise. I hope they move forward from those ideas and the writers can do something good with this!
Agreed, to extent. Like you said, both ideologies have their flaws. The problem I mostly see with Xavier’s dream is that it’s too idealistic, trying to see too much of the good in others that it extends a hand to those who shouldn’t be reached out to, that just because someone has an X-gene, that means they should be seen as a friend or ally. Magneto’s ideology has always been racial extremism and supremacy.
That was really my issue with the whole Krakoan Era. That Xavier and all the X-Men really, just abandoned the ideals that they held onto, fought for, and represented for years to embrace and create a culture that directly reflected Magneto’s supremacist ideology that humans were dirt and mutants were gods. I’m really hoping that the writers do something better than that this time.

I can’t be mad at that, I’d be heated if storm was randomly another race or something one issue, so I can see where you coming from

Well dang Scott, overreacting much.
Overacting seems to be his signature trait nowadays.
