I did NOT like what they did to Doug at the end of “Heir of Apocalypse”, the outfit, the personality change, etc. But this did a good job of cleaning that up and redirecting it in an interesting way. I surprisingly enjoyed this issue, but we’ll see what happens once Doug meets up with the Alaska team. Hopefully they don’t have him go full villain as was originally implicated in the mini series.

Idk how I feel about a guys whose power is to understand languages cant understand his wife, but its interesting. Also very interested to See Doug’s journey.
That was the entire point. In X of Swords he was married to the one person he can never understand. It’s a symbol for how love can persevere through a lack of communication, and how there are different forms of communication. Kinda like Black Bolt and Medusa (bad example now that I think about It because that’s why they split)
